From Families Like Yours

Real stories from moms, dads, and families who came back changed

Katie V

Our sailing voyages in the BVI give John and me something we rarely allow ourselves: permission to step away from two demanding careers, family responsibilities, and the constant churn of daily life. The minute I take off my shoes and step on the boat, it all melts away. What remains are the things that truly matter: adventure with my husband, laughter with our adult children, playful reconnection with our siblings, and awe at our Maker's glorious creation.

Mike T

The BVI has had a profound impact on our family. Time on the water brought us closer as a family, slowed us down, and gave us memories we'll carry for a lifetime. The only thing we regret is not doing it sooner.

Laurie M

Our BVI charter with Ty was hands down the absolute best vacation of my life… and let me clarify… I am "old" with plenty of vacation experience under my belt! Ty provided the ultimate experience — safety, daily amazing excursions, and a fun, relaxing environment in which to capture the beauty of the BVI amongst friends both old and new. I would repeat this trip under his expert guidance absolutely ANY time!

Tal H

The British Virgin Islands are truly the ultimate vacation. I've traveled my entire life, and the BVI stands apart with its breathtaking islands, crystal-clear beaches, and unreal sunsets. If you're looking for that perfect vacation, chartering in the BVI is the way to go!

Why Voyage with WayMaker?

This isn't a cruise. It's not a resort. It's something deeper.

You Carry a Lot. This Is Where You Set It Down.

You're the one who holds the calendar, plans the meals, remembers the details, and keeps everything moving. You do it with love — but it's exhausting. WayMaker Voyages exist so you can finally exhale. Step onto the boat, feel the wind, and watch your family come alive in ways that screens and schedules never allow. The Caribbean provides the perfect backdrop for challenge, play, reflection, and growth.

Purpose Reveals Itself on the Water

Every activity, meal, sail, and conversation throughout your voyage is intentionally designed to spark clarity and deepen connection. As the week unfolds, families naturally reconnect with what matters most. Parents and children step into shared moments that become lifelong anchors. Purpose reveals itself not in stillness, but in the movement, adventure, and meaningful shared experiences that shape each day on the water.

Customize Your Experience

All you need to do is share your group's goals, and we take care of the rest. Your voyage is crafted from start to finish — boats, captains, meals, activities, assessments, and guided moments are all thoughtfully arranged with your purpose in mind. When you arrive, everything is ready. You breathe. You settle in. And the journey begins exactly as it should: with nothing left for you to manage except being present for the experience ahead.

A Week That Will Change Your Family

Every voyage is customized based on your group, your goals, and the weather — but here's a glimpse of what a family sailing adventure can look like across seven unforgettable days.

Day 1 — The Journey Begins

Board the yacht, meet your captain and chef, and settle into life on the water. A sunset dinner and your first sealed clue set the stage for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 — The Baths: God's Playground

Navigate to a maze of giant boulders, hidden pools, and sunlit passages. Snorkeling reveals brilliant underwater life — and a hidden clue requires teamwork and courage to find.

Day 3 — Anegada: Trusting the Wind

An open-water sail builds confidence and skill. Arriving in Anegada feels like reaching the edge of the world — and a beach fire sets the stage for deeper adventure.

Day 4 — Treasures Beneath the Surface

An underwater discovery and compass bearings unlock the next piece of the puzzle. The beauty below reinforces a powerful truth: there is always more to people than what we see at first glance.

Day 5 — Sandy Cay: Strength in Stillness

A breathtaking island where your family slows down — floating, walking the beach, resting in the sun. Deeper connection grows when life is unhurried.

Day 6 — The Treasure Revealed

Your family operates the yacht together. The treasure chest awaits: inside, a mirror, a scripture, and the message that you are the treasure. A moment no one forgets.

Day 7 — Celebration & Legacy

A celebration sail filled with laughter, stories, and gratitude. You return to harbor changed — carrying memories that become a touchstone your family will return to for years.

A Gift Unlike Any Other

Gift a Voyage

Some gifts are opened once and forgotten. A WayMaker Voyage becomes part of a family's story forever.

Whether it's a milestone anniversary, a graduation, a retirement, or simply a desire to invest in someone's family — a WayMaker Voyage is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. We've seen congregations gift voyages to their pastors and their families as a way of honoring their service. We've seen grandparents create multi-generational memories that become part of the family's legacy. We've seen friends gift the experience to couples who need time to reconnect.

When you gift a voyage, we'll work with you to create a beautiful presentation package and coordinate every detail. The recipient simply shows up — and the rest is taken care of.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know before you set sail

01

What age range is this for?

We generally recommend voyages for children ages 8 and up, as this is when they're typically ready to engage fully in the family activities, treasure hunts, snorkeling, and sailing experiences. That said, every family is unique — we've had younger children join us, and we're happy to work with you to design a purposeful, age-appropriate adventure that fits your family's needs. For father–son or mother–daughter journeys, we've found the ideal age range to be 11–18. These trips are especially meaningful when a church group, circle of friends, or group of parents brings children of similar ages to share the experience together. No matter the ages, our goal is to create an intentional, safe, and unforgettable voyage where every child feels valued — and every parent feels proud of the memories they're building.

02

Do I need sailing experience?

No sailing experience is required. Our professional skippers take care of all the navigation and boat handling, so you can simply relax and enjoy the journey. For anyone who wants to learn, they love teaching — from the basics of steering and trimming sails to understanding how the wind moves the boat. You can participate as much or as little as you'd like.

03

Is this a Christian trip?

We follow Jesus Christ, and our voyages are shaped by that foundation. At the same time, we thoughtfully tailor each trip to the comfort level and preferences of our guests. Our approach is subtle, meaningful, and rooted in experiencing God's creation in a natural, authentic way. It's common for a voyage to include a short daily scripture that relates to the day's adventure, a prayer shared around the dinner table, worship music playing softly in the background, or guided conversations that open the door to deeper understanding. Nothing is forced, but the opportunity for spiritual growth is always present. Most guests tell us they appreciate how faith is woven into the journey — gently, intentionally, and in a way that brings families closer to God and to one another.

04

What if I get seasick?

The BVI are known for their calm, protected waters and short sailing hops between islands, which greatly reduces the chance of seasickness. Still, we recommend bringing whatever motion-sickness remedies work best for you, and we'll walk you through simple tips and best practices before we ever leave the dock. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we always have backup routes and options if conditions change.

05

What's the payment and refund policy?

A deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your yacht and hold your week. The remaining balance is due several months before departure. Refunds follow standard charter terms: as your trip date approaches, payments become less refundable because yachts are reserved exclusively for your group. If plans change, we'll do everything we can to help you reschedule. Before any payment, we walk you through the full timeline, cost structure, and refund windows so you have complete clarity and confidence.

06

Can I gift a voyage to my pastor or another family?

Absolutely — and it's one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. We've helped congregations honor their pastors, families create multi-generational memories, and friends surprise couples who needed time to reconnect. We'll work with you on every detail, including a beautiful presentation package. Just reach out through our contact form or call us directly.
